The Sisters Planning Commission unanimously approved plans last week to build what could be a 98-room, three-story hotel at the western edge of town. The 54-foot-tall Sisters Village Hotel, which would be located immediately south of the Les Schwab Tire Center adjacent to Hood Avenue, would give the city its tallest building, said Eric Porter, the city’s community development director. That paves the way for the developer, Celia Hung, of Bend, to start building after obtaining building permits, Porter said.

The plan was approved under Deschutes County planning standards per a 10-year-old agreement between the city, Deschutes County and the original developer, Pine Meadow Village LLC, that gave owners of the property 10 years to submit an application and fall under the county’s less-restrictive code for the Sisters area, Porter said.
