Sharon Michelle McMorris

June 30, 1974 – Sept. 29, 2009

Sharon Michelle McMorris 35, of Bend, Oregon, passed away Tuesday morning, September 29, 2009, after a brave fight with stomach cancer. She died in the peace and comfort of her home, constantly surrounded by the love of her friends and family.

Sharon was born in Bend, Oregon on June 30, 1974, to Darryl and Margaret Harms. It is here that she grew up and went to school, graduating from Mountain View High School in 1992.

Sharon went on to Seattle to work in the banking business, and then to Portland where she worked in business administration. She met her future groom on a vacation to Black Butte Ranch in 2000, and soon moved back to Bend. She has been employed by Deschutes Brewery for the past 9 years, where she started as a server at the Pub, and later became Manager of the Mountain Room, a banquet facility at the Brewery headquarters. She went to COCC nights, and received an Associates Degree in business and marketing in 2004.

Sharon married Brice McMorris on July 27, 2002. They built a life together, starting a family and enjoying the people and activities of Central Oregon. Sharon liked to camp, snowboard, shop, cook, outdoor adventures, and volunteering in the community. She loved her job, and constantly beamed with enthusiasm at whatever the task. Most of all, she loved spending time with her two boys, Wesley (5) and Vincent (2) as well as her husband, family, and friends. Sharon’s incredible smile, vibrant energy, friendly voice, and courageous spirit will forever be missed.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Brice; sons, Vincent Lynn, and Wesley Cade; brother, David Harms of Bend, OR; and parents, Darryl and Amy Harms of Bend, OR. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Harms.

Services will be held Sunday, October 11, 1:00 pm, at the First United Methodist Church, 680 NW Bond, Bend, OR. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Bend Park and Recreation building at River Bend Park, 799 SW Columbia St., Bend, OR.
