Sport Clips is open at the Cascade Village Shopping Center in Bend. The hair-care chain offers haircuts to men and boys in a sports-themed environment.
Allysons Kitchen is open in the Old Mill District at 375 S.W. Powerhouse Drive, in Bend. The store offers cooking classes, food to go, wine, cookware, cheeses and other kitchenware items.
The Ridge Group LLC has opened its company headquarters at 523 S.W. Seventh St., in Redmond. This aviation design specialty firm offers airport and aviation-related planning, design, architecture and construction management services. Tony Monroe, airport architect with 21 years of aviation design experience, and Steve Baron, principal consultant who started the firm in 2007, will manage the Redmond office.
Harper Houf Peterson Rig-hellis Inc. has moved to the Columbia River Bank building at 1133 N.W. Wall St., Suite 201, in Bend. The company provides engineering, landscape architecture, planning, construction, topographic and surveying services. The new location offers a larger office space to provide expanded workstations, additional offices and more meeting space.
Fast Jayne Photography has moved to a new photography studio at 811 S.W. 13th St., Suite 2, in Redmond.
FootZone, located in downtown Bend, has remodeled its retail space. The store now has more room for fitting running and walking shoes, more space to showcase its products, refinished floors and other new fixtures.
Ed Casey, owner of Baja Fresh Mexican Grill in Bend, was named Baja Fresh Franchisee of the Year for 2007. Casey owns and operates 22 of the Mexican restaurants throughout the Pacific Northwest. The award recognizes Caseys commitment to quality and sales growth.
Newport Avenue Market was recognized at the 2008 National Grocers Association Creative Choice Awards. Its Friday the 13th radio campaign, created by Every Idea in Bend, received the best radio commercial award at the NGAs annual convention held in Las Vegas. The 30-second radio commercial promoted Newport Market sales on Friday the 13th, which fell in April and July 2007. Newport Market sold nearly 50 percent more on those Fridays, compared with other Fridays in those months.
