“The Wedding Book: The Big Book for Your Big Day” By Mindy Weiss with Lisbeth Levine

Warning. Brides who like cut-to-the-chase bridal books might find Mindy Weiss’ “The Wedding Book: The Big Book For Your Big Day” intimidating. It’s a hefty 485 pages, which, for the busy, BlackBerry-toting bride, might be encyclopedic. Still, it’s worth it. Weiss, who has done weddings for Christian Slater, Jessica Simpson, Brooke Shields and Gwen Stefani, leaves no stone unturned when it comes to weddings and does so in a breezy, chatty fashion. She handily covers the often-asked-about, such as invitations, the gown, the menu; and the often-griped-about, such as sticky family issues, wedding day blemishes and lousy gifts. When it comes to bridal books, sometimes, bigger is better.
