Eugene Chamberlain, of Redmond, died Monday of natural causes. He was 82.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Redmond Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Chamberlain was born Oct. 13, 1925, in Crofton, Neb., the son of Fred and Jesse (Steele) Chamberlain. He married June Segard in Yankton, S.D.

Mr. Chamberlain served in the U.S. Army during World War II, earning a Silver Star. He worked in airline maintenance in Los Angeles.

Survivors include a son, Gary, of Bend; three daughters, Gail Griffith, of El Segundo, Calif., Becky Lafon, of Saugus, Calif., and Cheryl Thistle, of Torrance, Calif.; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife and a sister.
