Kenneth “Jerry” Brown

Nov. 30, 1951 — March 15, 2008

Kenneth “Jerry” Brown, of Crooked River Ranch, died Saturday of complications from a brain tumor. He was 56.

A funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. March 29 at St. Francis of Assisi in Bend. A celebration of life will follow at 3 p.m. at Cascade West.

Mr. Brown was born Nov. 30, 1951, in Santa Paula, Calif., the son of Robert Brown Jr. and Ramona Wiley. He graduated from high school in Santa Paula. He married Joann Kotzamichalis on Sept. 7, 2002, in Bend.

Mr. Brown served in the U.S. Army as a helicopter pilot for four years.

He was a helicopter pilot for Hawkins and Powers in Wyoming, and later he was a heavy equipment operator for the Knife River Corporation.

Mr. Brown enjoyed listening to rock and roll and blues music, camping, watching drag races, walking his dog, and spending time with friends and family.

He lived in Central Oregon in the 1980s. He later moved to Wyoming and then moved back to Central Oregon in 1997.

Survivors include his wife; his father; a brother, James, of Ventura, Calif.; and three sisters, Deidra Sypniewicz, of Mineral Wells, Texas, Carol Langstaff, of Beaver Dam, Ariz., and Barbara Hensell, of Redmond.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Autumn Funerals of Redmond is in charge of arrangements.
