For a low-calorie snack that's packed with vitamin C, try an apple

You know the old saying about apples and doctors. What you may not know is how eating apples can benefit your health. Apples have a generous amount of fiber, which help keep cholesterol in check, among other things. They also have a high amount of vitamin C, an antioxidant that plays a major role in collagen formation. With just 80 calories in a medium apple, it’s a healthy, low-calorie snack.

Watch out: Apples are among the foods that contain the highest amounts of pesticide residue, according to the Environmental Working Group. If that concerns you, buy organic.

How to eat: There are tons of ways to enjoy. Apples can be mashed, dried, baked or eaten raw for a delicious way to enjoy fall.
