Greyhound Pets of America is conducting a Greyhound Adoption Event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 11 at Bend Pet Express Eastside, 420 N.E. Windy Knolls Drive, and from noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 12 at Bend Pet Express Westside, 133 S.W. Century Drive.

The event will feature a number of greyhounds for people to meet and volunteers answering questions.

According to organizers, retired racing greyhounds make excellent companions for families, couples and singles.
