Edward William Kruger, of Bend, died Monday. He was 84.

Services will be held at a later date.

Mr. Kruger was born Dec. 9, 1923, in Fargo, N.D., the son of Albert and Bertha (Freudenberg) Krueger. He graduated from high school in Minnesota. He married Lois Geithman on July 19, 1947, in Williston, N.D.

Mr. Kruger served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked as a carpet installer in Grants Pass, a park ranger in Newport and a maintenance man in the Crook County School District. He attended Westside Church in Bend.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and being a handyman.

Survivors include two sons, Danny, of Federal Way, Wash., and Richard, of Bend; a daughter, Bonnie, of Bend; two brothers, Gail Klein, of Parkers Prairie, Minn., and Elroy Krueger, of California; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a sister and two brothers.
