Bend trio fourth at OGA team tourney

HOOD RIVER – A team representing Bend Golf and Country Club placed fourth among 16 teams at the inaugural Oregon Golf Association Women’s Team Championship.

The two-day tournament, a 36-hole stroke-play event, was staged May 15-16 at Indian Creek Golf Course.

The Bend trio of Nettie Morrison, Robin Prouty and Nancy Breitenstein carded scores of 172 and 166 for a two-round total of 50-over-par 338. Morrison shot 87-80-167; Prouty posted an 85-86-171; Breitenstein’s scores were 88-87-175.

Team scores were calculated using the best two of three individual scores by each team on each day.

A team representing Waverley Country Club of Portland – Charisse Spada, Lara Tennant and Donna Kinsel – shot a 307 to finish ahead of runner-up Pumpkin Ridge-Witch Hollow (316) and third-place Willamette Valley Golf Club (328).

In the net division, the Bend Golf and Country Club team tied with Waverley for fourth place, both at 14-over 306. Ranch Hills Golf Club of Mulino won the net division with a score of 293.
