JOSEPH — The Swiss-Bavarian cultural festival Alpenfest will return next September to the Wallowa County town of Joseph, with beer, bratwurst and the blowing of an 11-foot-long Alpenhorn.

The original organizers dropped the festival in 2008, but supporters missed it and hope it brings some tourists back to northeastern Oregon.

Events will include yodeling, crafts and a screening of “The Sound of Music.”
