Elizabeth Liz Dugan

Sept. 8, 1929 — July 2, 2007

Elizabeth “Liz” Dugan, of Bend, died Monday of natural causes. She was 77.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Bend.

Ms. Dugan was born Sept. 8, 1929, in Summerfield, Kan., to James and Elizabeth (Boyer) Dugan. She attended school in Oakridge and graduated from the University of Oregon in 1951.

Ms. Dugan retired from teaching in Oakland, Calif., in 1986, when she moved to Central Oregon.

Mrs. Dugan set a record of volunteering for 12,000 hours at the High Desert Museum. She also volunteered for Volunteers in Medicine. She enjoyed the Oakland Athletics baseball team.

Survivors include a brother, William, of Eugene.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Memorial contributions may be made to the High Desert Museum, Volunteers in Medicine or HospiceCenter’s Hospice House.

Niswonger-Reynolds Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
