A La Pine man who went missing Friday night at Wickiup Reservoir was found safe around 11 a.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office.

Wesley Scott Murphey, 50, was reported missing around 10:45 p.m. Friday, according to the release. He had gone swimming at the reservoir and failed to return home.

Sheriff’s deputies and volunteers with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team began searching for him near the boat ramp.

Saturday morning, searchers found Murphey walking on Cascade Lakes Highway near Forest Road 44. He was in good condition and uninjured, the release reported.
