McKenzie Reed Barnes and Richard Booth Platt Jr. were married Sept. 30, 2006, in Sunriver. A reception followed at the Great Hall.

The bride is the daughter of Greg and Alice Barnes, of Bend. She is a 1996 graduate of Mountain View High School and a 2000 graduate of St. Lawrence University, where she studied biology and anthropology. She received a master’s degree in medical science from Midwestern University. She works as a cardiology physician’s assistant at Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit.

The groom is the son of Richard Platt, of Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich., and Mrs. Anna Warren, of Metamora, Mich. He is a 1996 graduate of Proctor Academy in Andover, N.H., and a 2000 graduate of St. Lawrence University, where he studied geology. He received a Master of Science from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry. He works as a project manager for Specialty Auto Parts USA in Detroit.

The couple honeymooned in Kauai, Hawaii.

They have settled in Huntington Woods, Mich.
