Liberal religion

Revisionist powers in the Middle East (tyrannical Muslim) and in Northeast Asia (tyrannical, Stalinist North Korea) lust for conquest by intimidation, military invasion, or terror-butchery.

Meanwhile, liberals in our nation and Western Europe want to talk, talk, talk with these destructive elements in hope of averting the inevitable. Then, when their blue sky turns red from terror-fire, liberals think it over: ”Gee whiz, gosh, we should talk and negotiate; we must find out what makes them hate us.”

See, all of this is an article of faith with liberals: ”Humans are rational, basically good, desire peace, respect their fellow humans.” And so thinks the liberal: With our fellow humans, we must talk, negotiate, discover the basic cause of their contempt, their hatred for our existence.

That’s the liberal religion. We’ve heard the lyrics to that song before, all through the 1930s before the last holocaust. And we are hearing it now, even as the next holocaust is being prepared for us.

Like all belief systems grounded in nonempirical faith, today’s liberal religion resists reason, rational analysis and reality – substituting hopes, dreams and optimism.

In the sphere of human history, wherein belief systems are spawned and nurtured, and eventually end their lives as a creed outworn, the liberal religion will also meet its end. Inevitably. Eventually.

But, quite possibly, given the exigencies of today’s world, not before we meet ours.
