Archer ”J.R.” Warren Roe Jr., of Glenrock, Wyo., died Sept. 20. He was 72.

No services will be held at his request.

Mr. Roe was born March 4, 1934, in Fairfield, Iowa, to Archer Sr. and Hazel (Page) Roe. He graduated from high school in Ventura, Calif., in 1952. He married Harriett Holten on Jan. 12, 1991, in Bullhead City, Ariz.

Mr. Roe joined the U.S. Army after graduating from high school and served in the Korean War for two years. He was honorably discharged as a corporal. He worked as a telephone technician for Pacific Bell in Ventura for 32 years. He retired in 1988. He lived in La Pine for two years before moving to Glenrock in 1993 to own Roe Ranch, where he and his wife raised quarter horses.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Kory, of San Jose, Calif.; two stepsons, Roy Piubeni, of Basalt, Colo., and Robert Piubeni, of Santa Monica, Calif.; two daughters, Tracy, of Sacramento, Calif., and Jana Bailey, of Truckee, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Paula Piubeni-Wolf, of Canby; two brothers, Theodore, of Ojai, Calif., and Caroll, of Moorpark, Calif.; a sister, Shirley Schulze, of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.; numerous grandchildren and step-grandchildren; and two former wives, Vicky, of Phoenix, and Carol, of Paradise, Calif.
