SISTERS – Cory McCaffrey’s 83-yard kickoff return was the icing on the cake as Sisters rolled to a 47-6 victory over Burns in nonleague high school football action on Friday night.

The Class 4A Outlaws (2-0 overall) were in control from the start against the Class 3A Hilanders (1-1). Sisters led 20-0 after the opening quarter and held a commanding 34-0 advantage at halftime at Reed Stadium.

”They played really well,” said Sisters coach Bob Macauley. ”We played a lot of kids and they all played well.”

Jeff Sampson’s three-yard run in the first quarter put Sisters on top for good. McCaffrey added touchdown runs of four and 26 yards in the opening quarter to make it 20-0.

Sampson scored on a four-yard run and Nate Jackson reeled in a 28-yard pass from Jarred Hasskamp to close out the first-half scoring.

Sisters continued to roll in the second half, as Jackson caught a 30-yard TD pass from Hasskamp early in the third quarter.

After Burns got on the scoreboard on Tyrel Peasley’s 13-yard pass reception, McCaffrey ran the ensuing kickoff back 83 yards for the final points.

McCaffrey finished with 205 rushing yards on 12 carries – his second straight game rushing for more than 200 yards. Jackson caught all five of Hasskamp’s pass completions for 148 yards and two touchdowns. Sampson added 54 yards on eight carries.

Linebacker Dominic Nieri led the Sisters defensive effort with eight tackles, two interceptions and one fumble recovery. Sampson added nine tackles.

The Outlaws travel to Madras next Friday night to face the White Buffaloes.
