Walter Raymond Rue, of Redmond, died Monday of natural causes. He was 86.
No services are planned.
Mr. Rue was born Nov. 20, 1919, in Silverton to Bert and Minnie (Funrue) Rue. He attended high school in Silverton. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, fighting in the Aleutian Islands of Alaska. He married Maxine Davenport in 1946.
Mr. Rue worked in the Lumber Industry for most of his life, first in a mill and later as a logger for over 20 years. He also worked as a groundskeeper for Black Butte Ranch for 17 years. He moved to Sisters in 1972 and to Redmond in 1990.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dan, of the Virgin Islands, and Ted, of Portland; a daughter, Darlene Berry, of Redmond; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and a sister.
