V. Marguerite (Foster) Hathaway Taylor of Monmouth died Wednesday. She was 79.
A funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Farnstrom Mortuary in Independence. A reception will be held at 4 p.m. at the Monmouth Senior Center.
Mrs. Taylor was born Sept. 13, 1926, in Cambridge, Neb., to Roy and Dena Foster. She graduated from Henry Hill High School in Independence. Shortly after graduating, she married Richard Hathaway. She later married Dick Taylor. Mrs. Taylor worked as the secretary for Foster Plumbing and for a number of different school libraries. When she moved with her family to Bend in 1968, she worked in the library of Pilot Butte Grade School. She later lived in Prineville for two years.
She enjoyed bowling, golf, travel, playing cards and wintering in Yuma, Ariz.
Survivors include a son, William Hathaway of Las Vegas; two daughters, Sharon Morrison of Camano Island, Wash., and Cheryl Zimmerman of Prineville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
