- Nathan Jackson connects for a base hit in Sisters' 3-0 victory over Lakeview in Madras on Thursday.
MADRAS – Jeff Fitter threw a complete-game one-hitter and recorded seven strikeouts as Sisters downed Lakeview 3-0 in an opening-round baseball contest at the La Pine-Madras Spring Thaw Tournament in Madras on Thursday.
”Fitter had great control and was able to mix it up,” Sisters coach Kevin Bigby said of his senior pitcher.
Helping Fitter was the Outlaw defense, which got 13 outs on 14 balls that where put into play by the Honker offense.
”He (Fitter) was supported by a great defense that didn’t give up any errors,” said Bigby.
Bigby noted that center fielder Carter Davenport ran down several well-hit balls that could have led to potential rallies by the Lakeview offense.
Andy Burke led Sisters by going two for three with an RBI. Nate Jackson also picked up an RBI for the Outlaws.
Sisters (3-1 overall) will play Kennedy today at noon in Madras.
