Support Bill Smith

We have known Bill A. Smith for the past 33 years as a man of character, integrity, intelligence, inspiration and fortitude. During his 30 years as a teacher and coach in the school district, he not only imparted knowledge to his students, but motivated them to work hard and do their best. He taught and coached by example – through his own life as a devoted husband and father, his high values, his calm, rational demeanor, his strong work ethic and his healthy lifestyle. He is the role model every parent wants for his/her child.
After retirement, Bill continued to teach, along with his wife, Judy, at the Colegio Maya International School in Guatemala. He has further demonstrated his commitment to education by serving on the Bend-La Pine School Board. His years of experience and service in the field of education give him a clear understanding, from all sides, of the problems facing Oregon schools and a determination to solve them.
Bill is not a partisan person. He has no personal agenda other than to make Oregon a better state for all Oregonians. He is an enthusiastic, determined problem-solver and an independent thinker who focuses on a goal and brings people together to reach it. Following his own advice as a coach, he doesn’t get distracted and doesn’t lose sight of the finish line. We urge voters to cheer him on for the race for State House Representative for District #53.
