Out on the northeast boundary of Bends city limits, at the corner of Butler Market Road and 27th Street, hides Little Pizza Para-dise.

Thats how the owners, Kirby and Debbie Cress, describe it a friendly neighborhood restaurant where eastsiders can get a slice of pepperoni pizza, a calzone or The Works, filled with four different meats and a variety of veggies and toppings.

For those who live on the largely residential northeast side of Bend, hot food is a rarity. And if Butler Market Road is your guide, Little Pizza Paradise is one of few choices between Third Street and Prineville.

And Little Pizza Paradise delivers. Pizzas, that is, between 5 and 9 p.m.

People are ordering pizzas, calzones and salads. Pepperoni, Hawaiian and other combos are available, as well as specialty pizzas including: pesto, the Mediterranean and Jens Garden, a vegetarian pizza with artichoke hearts, zucchini, Kalamata olives and feta cheese. Customers can also create their own pizzas from an extensive list of toppings. The create-your-own mentality works well with Little Pizza Paradise as the food is made from scratch, and creativity is strongly encouraged.

Another popular item is the calzones, Debbie Cress said. For the uninitiated, a calzone is like a pizza that is folded over, creating a dough shell with the toppings hidden inside.

The restaurant offers four different calzones, a pepperoni and sausage, veggie and combo calzones. Debbie Cress said people can also order calzones tailored to their taste.

Rounding out the menu are several salads, including a Caesar salad with homemade dressing and garlic chips. All the dressings in the restaurant are homemade. The pizzeria also offers

antipasto and garden salads. A full menu and discounted coupons can also be found in the phone book.

For the lunchtime crowd, Little Pizza Paradise dishes up a variety of slices. They are popular with contractors working in the area and students from nearby Mountain View High School. Slices range from $2 to $2.50.

For the students, a big hit has been the $1.50 slices the business offers on Tuesdays.
