Bedouin Soundclash

You could throw a tie-dyed shirt down a street in Kingston, Jamaica, and probably hit a reggae band. But its a different Kingston, this one near Toronto, Canada, that produced Bedouin Soundclash.

The trio definitely draws its main influence from that other Kingston, however. Its music is a mix of reggae, rock and Afro-beat, and the bands most recent album, Sounding A Mosaic, spawned a hit single on the Canadian charts called When The Night Feels My Song, which also was nominated for a Juno Award (the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys) for best single of the year.

The song didnt win, but Bedouin Soundclash did receive a Juno as best new group, even though the band was formed in 2001 at Queens University in Kingston.
