Viola Blanche Anderson of Hood River died Tuesday. She was 83.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Belcrest Cemetery in Salem.

Mrs. Anderson was born April 29, 1922, in South Dakota to Milton and Rachel (Hendrickson) Pribble. She married Clifford Anderson on May 21, 1941, in Newport.

Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker. She and her husband moved to Bend in 1979. She was a founding member of the Bend Evangelical Church, now known as New Hope Church. She enjoyed baking, sewing, crocheting, knitting, making ceramics, traveling with the Good Sam Club and camping with her grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Edwin of Leominster, Mass.; a sister, Marjorie of Arizona; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son and two brothers.
