Nettie Lee Calkins of Bend died Monday of natural causes. She was 91.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Deschutes Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins, Colo.

Mrs. Calkins was born Feb. 2, 1914, in Dryden, Okla., to Adolphus and Mary (Steele) Sampson. She married Arlo Calkins on Aug. 24, 1941, in Gould, Okla.

Mrs. Calkins was a homemaker. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Fort Collins and the Order of the Eastern Star in Mangum, Okla. She enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her son, Raymond of Provo, Utah; a daughter, Mary Sanders of Bend; two brothers, Bert Sampson of Oklahoma and Jack Sampson of Texas; and one grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, two sisters and a granddaughter.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Deschutes Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
