Libertarian presidential candidate Michael Badnarik will be campaigning in Bend on Monday.
He will be joined by Libertarian candidates from throughout Oregon for a noon rally at Riverfront Plaza in downtown Bend, according to a news release. He will also attend a party fund-raiser later that day.
According to the release, Badnarik is critical of the war in Iraq and has called for bringing all American troops home from their worldwide deployment.
A supporter of the Second Amendment, he has also called for ending the war on drugs and ending the government’s role of issuing marriage licenses, the release stated.
Badnarik had been on the road for 15 months prior to winning the Libertarian Party’s nomination at its convention in Atlanta on Memorial Day weekend.
