Pacific Power extends service guarantee program

Pacific Power plans to extend customer service guarantees.Pacific Power on Monday filed with the utility commissions in the six states it serves to continue its customer service guarantee and performance standard program beyond its expiration in March 2005. The guarantee program, which backs service to customers with a promise to pay, started in 2000 and was slated to be in effect for five years.The guarantees highlight key areas such as restoration of power, service connection, investigation of bill or meter problems, providing notice of planned interruptions and keeping appointments. The company is also proposing that key performance standards also be extended to continue improvements in systemwide reliability and to maintain focus on outage responsiveness, telephone performance and complaint handling. Pacific Power says it intends to continue the program for at least the next three years.
