Construction to continue between La Pine, Sunriver

Construction crews are continuing to work on a variety of projects on Highway 97 through Central Oregon from south of La Pine to south of Sunriver.
South of La Pine work is continuing to replace 19 miles of pavement on the highway between Cottonwood Junction and Freemont Junction.
Work will take place this week between La Pine and Wickiup Junction. There will delays during the day, Tuesday through Saturday, as crews place new pavement on the roadway.
South of Sunriver ODOT is making improvements, widening and adding new left-turn lanes to a section of Highway 97 at Vandevert Road. It is expected to have minimal impact on traffic.
Here is a roundup of other road construction projects in Central Oregon based on information on the Oregon Department of Transportation:
* Crook County – Crews are working this week on what is called the ”Powell Butte Passing Lanes” project located between Redmond and Prineville on the Powell Butte Highway. The construction is expected to cause minor delays Monday through Friday through the end of the month.
* Deschutes County – Work is continuing on the O’Neil Highway north of Redmond. Delays will be up to 20 minutes. Construction will take place Monday through Saturday. The project is expected to be completed by the end of October.
* Jefferson County – ODOT crews are trying to improve safety on Highway 26, often called the Warm Springs Highway. Excavation work is being done along what is called the ”Pelton Grade Curve Correction project.” It is expected to be completed by November.
