Jessey Jess’ L. Parrish

Sept. 21, 1925 – March 10, 2003

Jessey ”Jess” L. Parrish of Culver died Monday of natural causes. She was 77.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bel-Air Colonial Chapel in Madras.

Mrs. Parrish was born Sept. 21, 1925, in The Dalles to Frank and Velma Knox. She married Ray Parrish on June 6, 1948, in Wasco.

She was a seamstress. Mrs. Parrish retired from Seaswirl Boats in 2002.

Survivors include her husband of Culver; two sons, Richard and Gregory, both of Portland; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

Harold Carrol Pavey Jr.

July 11, 1933 – March 4, 2003

Harold Carrol Pavey Jr. of Prineville died March 4. He was 69.

No service will be held.

Mr. Pavey was born July 11, 1933, in El Dorado, Kan., to Harold and Eve Pavey.

He served in the Navy.

Mr. Pavey was a freelance surveyor.

Survivors include his companion, Sherry Eriksen of Prineville; three sons, Michael and Todd, both of Milwaukie, and Greg of Oregon City; and three grandchildren.

Orval M. Mahn

Oct. 17, 1927 – March 8, 2003

Orval M. Mahn of Culver died Saturday of natural causes. He was 75.

A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. today at Culver Church of the Nazarene.

Mr. Mahn was born Oct. 17, 1927, in Boring to Frederick and Gertrude (Butts) Mahn. He married Peggy Gehrts on Sept. 16, 1949, in Sandy.

He worked for the Wagner Mining Corporation as a machinist.

Mr. Mahn was affiliated with the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and reading. He also enjoyed visiting with people.

Survivors include his wife of Culver; two sons, Frederick of Bend and Bob of Culver; one daughter, LeAnne Coochise of Phoenix; one brother, Richard of Portland; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Herman Ole Herman’ L. Miller

April 29, 1914 – Jan. 10, 2003

Herman ”Ole Herman” L. Miller of Bend died Jan. 10 of natural causes. He was 88.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at 20949 Hill Top Place in Bend.

Mabel B. Lavelle Radtke

April 12, 1906 – March 7, 2003

Mabel B. Lavelle Radtke of Sparks, Nev., died March 7 of natural causes. She was 96.

A service was held.

Mrs. Radtke was born April 12, 1906, in Bayard, Iowa to William and Lucy (Waldbridge) Bolman. She married Clarence Radtke.

She served with the Civil Defense as an aircraft warning observer during World War II.

Mrs. Radtke was a homemaker. She moved to La Pine in 1982.

She was affiliated with the Moose Auxiliary and Order of Eastern Star.

Mrs. Radtke also volunteered with Mealsites.

Survivors include one brother, Ray Bolman of Pensacola, Fla.; one sister, May Parks of Beiber, Calif.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, two brothers and two sisters.

Clarence Henry Steward Sr.

July 19, 1932 – March 6, 2003

Clarence Henry Steward Sr. of Redmond died March 6 of natural causes. He was 70.

No service will be held.

Mr. Steward was born July 19, 1932, in St. Helens to Leslie and Florence (Boyd) Steward. He married Lina Mae on Nov. 2, 1957, in St. Helens.

He served in the Air Force from 1951 to 1955 when he was honorably discharged.

Mr. Steward worked for Boise Cascade Paper Mill for 21 years.

He was affiliated with the Moose Lodge.

Mr. Steward enjoyed golf, bowling, computer games and lottery tickets.

Survivors include his wife of Redmond; two sons, Clarence Jr. and Robert, both of Redmond; one daughter, Leslie Gilleland of Redmond; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son and his parents.
