Kathleen Louise Havens

Oct. 13, 1934 – March 14, 2003

Kathleen Louise Havens of Redmond died Friday after a long struggle with cancer. She was 68.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Redmond Nazarene Church.

Mrs. Havens was born Oct. 13, 1934, in Salinas, Calif., to Theodore and Aileen (Smith) Hall. She was educated in Seaside and Monterey, Calif. She married Gregory Havens on Oct. 9, 1954, in Seaside, Calif.

She worked for Tektronix in Beaverton and Redmond, retiring in 1997 after 29 years.

She was affiliated with Redmond Nazarene Church, Redmond Saddle Club, and the Pregnancy Crisis Center.

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, camping and traveling.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Theresa Meinert of Redmond; one sister, Nay Grigone of Warrenton, Mo.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.

Lorna Catherine (Cecil) Larsen

Sept. 23, 1917 – March 13, 2003

Lorna Catherine (Cecil) Larsen of Bend died Thursday in Portland. She was 85.

A visitation will be held from noon to 7 p.m. today at Deschutes Memorial Chapel. A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at New Hope Evangelic Church.

Mrs. Larsen was born Sept. 23, 1917, in Buxton. She moved to Bend when she was 3 years old. She graduated from Bend High School in 1933. Mrs. Larsen married Robert Cecil in 1940.

She worked as a secretary, real estate broker and insurance agency owner for many years. She married Thomas Larsen on June 29, 1985, in Klamath Falls.

Mrs. Larsen was affiliated with the New Hope Church, the Bend BPOE and the Deschutes Pioneer Association.

She enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and being with her family.

Survivors include her two sons, Gary Cecil of Crooked River Ranch and Bob Cecil of Portland; one sister, Vivienne Prophet of Bend; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands and parents.
