Recreation: Sun Mountain Fun Center

More than nine years ago, Ed and Cathy Ramsay opened Sun Mountain Fun Center at the north end of Bend. The Ramsays built the facility initially as a bowling alley, but soon added an 18-hole miniature golf course and go-kart track.
When Lava Lanes opened on Bend’s eastside, rather than compete with the new alley for league bowlers, the couple focused on turning the facility into a family fun center. Over the last few years, the center has added a party room, arcade and batting cages.
General Manager Chris Lomax said sales have grown about 50 percent in the last three years and the business is looking at future expansion.
