Ralph George Borley

May 16, 1930 – July 23, 2003

Ralph George Borley of Redmond died Wednesday of natural causes. He was 73.

No service will be held.

Mr. Borley was born May 16, 1930, in Loma Linda, Calif., to Ralph and Georgie (Ledford) Borley. He married Gereldean Allen on June 25, 1960, in Reno, Nev.

He served in the Army from 1951 to 1953 in the Korean War.

Mr. Borley moved to Redmond from Burns in 1974. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry. He retired in 2001.

His hobbies included hunting, fishing and trap shooting. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of Redmond; two sons, Eric and Mark, both of Redmond; four daughters, Cindy Stowell of Mariposa, Calif., Denise McFarlane of Terrebonne, Shirley of Redmond and Esther Warren of Redmond; a stepdaughter, Karen Merritt of Burns; two sisters, Eugenia Hause of Whittier, Calif., and Audrey Dunn of Redding, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Harry Edward Kissler

Sept. 14, 1916 – July 22, 2003

Harry Edward Kissler of Redmond died Tuesday of cancer. He was 86.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Deschutes Memorial Chapel. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Redmond Fire Station followed by a graveside service at Des-chutes Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Kissler was born Sept. 14, 1916, in Powell Butte to Frank and Lara (Stevens) Kissler. He attended Powell Butte Grade School and graduated from Redmond High School. He married Margaret Downs.

He worked as a farmer, fireman and brick and stone mason. Mr. Kissler served with the Redmond Fire Department for 37 years.

Survivors include his two daughters, Tonia Cain and Judy McDevitt, both of Redmond; a sister, Ila Campbell of Portland; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Redmond, Sisters and Grant County.

Niccole Colie’ RaeLyn Bjurling

Nov. 20, 2001 – July 22, 2003

Niccole ”Colie” RaeLyn Bjurling of Bend died Tuesday. She was 1.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. today at Light and Life Free Methodist Church in Bend followed by a graveside service at Deschutes Memorial Gardens.

Niccole was born Nov. 20, 2001, in Bend to Christopher Bjurling and Tracie Stevenson. Survivors include her parents of Bend; a brother, Tyler Saarinen of Bend; a sister, Cathryn Bolton of Bend; grandparents, Beth and Dan Hall of Bend and Kathryn and Raymond Bjurling of Bend; great-grandparents, Connie and Kenneth Bolton of Bend, Robert Petty of Bend and Robert Knowles of Springfield.

Annabelle C. Avery

Oct. 16, 1917 – July 23, 2003

Annabelle C. Avery of Bend died Wednesday of natural causes. She was 85.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Pilot Butte Cemetery in Bend.

Mrs. Avery was born Oct. 16, 1917, in Bow Leggs, Okla., to Glenn and Nancy (DeHart) Snodgrass. She married Diamont Avery on June 29, 1936, in Holdenville, Okla.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her son Kenneth of Vale; a daughter, Charlotte Price of Redmond; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother and a sister.
