Imogene ‘Imo’ Ruth Strahan

Aug. 31, 1919 – Aug. 5, 2003

Imogene ”Imo” Ruth Strahan of Culver died Aug. 5 of natural causes. She was 83.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Strahan was born Aug. 31, 1919, in Junction City, Kan., to Charles and Susie Breneman. She married Heaston Strahan on Sept. 14, 1940, in Stevenson, Wash.

Mrs. Strahan was a homemaker. She enjoyed flowers and gardening.

Survivors include her son Lee of Sherwood; a daughter, Marilyn Fiscus of Culver; a brother, Archie Breneman of Salem; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain View Hospice c/o Mountain View Hospital in Madras.

Robert J. Barnett

Oct. 9, 1969 – Aug. 12, 2003

Robert J. Barnett of Las Vegas died Aug. 12 of natural causes. He was 33.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Smith Rock Community Church in Terrebonne.

Mr. Barnett was born Oct. 9, 1969, in Toppenish, Wash., to Robert Sr. and Lynn Barnett. He attended school in Prineville and Dallesport, Wash., before moving to Redmond.

Mr. Barnett worked as a farrier. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and archery. He also enjoyed trail riding with his horse, Keno.

Survivors include his wife, Terri Barnett of Las Vegas; his father of Goldendale, Wash., and mother, Lynn Whitney of Redmond; a daughter, Stephanie of Burns; two brothers, Richard and Randy of Redmond; and a grandmother, Betty Linker of Redmond.

Richard W. Erb

May 19, 1928 – Aug. 13, 2003

Richard W. Erb of Crooked River Ranch died Aug. 13 in an automobile accident. He was 75.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the Word of Victory Church in Redmond.

Mr. Erb was born May 19, 1928, in Pennsylvania to Eugene and Helen (Moyer) Erb.

He was a missionary and traveled in 1953 to Pakistan, where he met his wife, Mary Nelson. They were married April 27, 1957, in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

After 18 years in Pakistan, Mr. Erb settled in Grants Pass in 1973 and worked as a minister. He moved to Alaska in 1988 and then to Crooked River Ranch in 1993.

Survivors include his two sons, Steve of Crooked River Ranch and David of Redmond; a daughter, Sharon of Claremont, Calif.; a brother, Jim of Ohio; a sister, Beatrice Rusterholtz of Baltimore; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Mary E. Erb

Dec. 2, 1926 – Aug. 13, 2003

Mary E. Erb of Crooked River Ranch died Aug. 13 in an automobile accident. She was 76.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the Word of Victory Church in Redmond.

Mrs. Erb was born Dec. 2, 1926, in California to Ernest and Mary (Depuy) Nelson.

She was a missionary and traveled in 1953 to Pakistan, where she met her husband, Richard Erb. They were married April 27, 1957, in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

After 18 years in Pakistan, Mrs. Erb settled in Grants Pass in 1973. She moved to Alaska in 1988 and worked as a teacher before moving to Crooked River Ranch in 1993.

Survivors include her two sons, Steve of Crooked River Ranch and David of Redmond; a daughter, Sharon of Claremont, Calif.; three brothers, Ernie Nelson, Eugene Nelson and Dale Nelson, all of California; two sisters, Margaret Grendahl of Roseville, Calif., and Lucille Blassingame of California; and three grandchildren.

Howard Wayne Smith Sr.

Oct. 10, 1930 – Aug. 17, 2003

Howard Wayne Smith Sr. of Crooked River Ranch died Sunday of natural causes. He was 72.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Crooked River Ranch Chapel.

Mr. Smith was born Oct. 10, 1930, in McPherson, Kan., to Lee and Liona (Mowery) Smith. He married Marain Crawford on Dec. 24, 1952.

Mr. Smith worked as a truck driver for Viking Freight. He was also a volunteer with the Crooked River Fire Department and a member of the Crooked River Grange. He was a resident of Crooked River Ranch since 1990.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and camping with his family.

Survivors include his two sons, H. Wayne Jr. and Kenneth, both of Scappoose; two daughters, Lorraine Renard and Patricia McCune, both of Portland; a sister, Marilyn Simonson of Cottage Grove; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife.
