L. Phillip Paris

Jan. 11, 1943 – Nov. 15, 2002

L. Phillip Paris of Bend died Friday of cancer. He was 59.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Nativity Lutheran Church in Bend.

Mr. Paris was born Jan. 11, 1943, in Albany. He graduated from Oregon State University in 1973. He married Patricia on May 5, 1985, in Salem.

He served in Vietnam from 1964 to 1965.

Mr. Paris was a certified public accountant. He opened his own practice in 1976.

He enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He also liked to travel and work in his yard.

Survivors include his wife of Bend; one son, Rodney of Portland; one stepson, Dan McCleery of Bend; one daughter, Jennifer Paris of Newport; one stepdaughter, Debbie Sumption of Medford; his mother, Cecile Paris of Salem; one sister, Judy Disbrow of Salem; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Memorial contributions may be made to Central Oregon Hospice or a charity for children.
