Mildred (Conner) Andis of Bend died Wednesday of natural causes. She was 92.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday at Niswonger, Reynolds and Tabor Funeral Home. A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Niswonger, Reynolds and Tabor Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pilot Butte Cemetery.
Mrs. Andis was born April 14, 1909, in Clarendon, Texas. She married Carl Andis on Sept. 10, 1927, in Memphis, Texas.
She was a homemaker. She moved to Bend in May 1946.
Mrs. Andis volunteered with the Missionary Circle at First Baptist and Eastmont Baptist churches. She also was a Sunday school teacher and supporter of Young Life. She was affiliated with the Home Extension Group and Election Board.

Survivors include her grandson, Tim of Yakima, Wash.; two granddaughters, Cyndi and Karen, both of Edmunds, Wash.; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a son.

Kevin W. Clore of Bend died Thursday. He was 41.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today at First Methodist Church in Bend with Mr. Clore’s stepfather, the Rev. Ed Raynis officiating.
Mr. Clore was born Sept. 19, 1960, in Seattle to Wendell Clore and Lois Raynis. His family moved to Bend in 1974. He graduated from Bend Senior High School in 1979 and was a member of the basketball team. He was an Oregon Scholar. He married Traci Boner on Sept. 15, 1984, in Bend.
He worked as a Deschutes County Foster Parent for 18 years.
Mr. Clore was affiliated with the Bend United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoor sports.
Survivors include his wife of Bend; father of Portland; mother and stepfather of Portland; a brother, David of Seatac; a grandfather, Dr. Walter of Prosser, Wash.; and a grandmother, Gladys Erikson of Ferndale, Wash.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Bend.

Patricia Lavina (Deadmond) Winnop of Bend died Jan. 5 of natural causes. She was 77.
A private service will be held.
Ms. Winnop was born Sept. 3, 1924, in Marcola. She married Robert Winnop on May 29, 1947.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of Bend; three sons, Gary Zimmerman of Indian Springs, Nev., Mike Zimmerman of Bend and Richard of La Pine; a daughter, Vickie Eberth of Salem; and a sister, Ina Davidson of Scappoose.

Geraldine ”Peg” (Hodgson) Kamperman of Bend died Jan. 12 of natural causes. She was 83.

Mrs. Kamperman was born July 4, 1918, in Beaver Falls, Pa. She married Harold Kamperman in 1938, in Ellwood City, Pa.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Kamperman was affiliated with the First Baptist Church of Ellwood City, Pa.
Survivors include her son, David of Bend; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband.

Louise Eleanor (Foxford) Hufstader

Louise Eleanor (Foxford) Hufstader of Bend died Jan. 11 of natural causes. She was 81.
A private service will be held.
Ms. Hufstader was born Sept. 9, 1920, in Tacoma, Wash., to William and Maud Foxford. She married Leslie Hufstader in 1937.
She worked in the banking industry. She married Jack McCall. She retired in 1969. She then came out of retirement in the ’80s and worked as assistant clerk of the board for the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors in Ukiah, Calif. She moved to Bend in 1990 to be near family.
Ms. Hufstader was an artist. She enjoyed painting, gardening, playing the piano and spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Donald of Irvine, Calif.; a daughter, Judith McCall of Bend; a brother, Lawrence Foxford of Irvine, Calif.; a sister, Nancy Browne of Bend; and two grandchildren.

Otto W. Heider Jr.

Otto W. Heider Jr. of Portland died Oct. 25, 2001. He was 75.
A service was held.
Mr. Heider was born May 13, 1926, in Sheridan. He married Elsie Reep on Oct. 2, 1970.
He owned and operated a funeral home in Bend. He also owned and operated Heider Funeral Home in Albany. He retired in 1974. He moved to Portland in 1978.
Mr. Heider was a member of the Euclid Order of the Eastern Star No. 70, Oregon White Shrine No. 1, Cherry Court No. 19, Colonial No. 5 of Amaranth, Sweet Home Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Al Kader Shrine, Sheridan Odd Fellows Lodge No. 87 and Milwaukie Elks Lodge No. 2032.
Survivors include his wife of Portland; two sons, Otto III of Silverton and George of Portland; a daughter, Martha St. Clari of Rougemont, N.C.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Robert ‘Bob’ Simard

The Rev. Robert ”Bob” Simard of Prineville died Thursday of natural causes. He was 70.
A vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Deschutes Memorial Gardens.
The Rev. Simard was born Feb. 9, 1931, in Cambridge, Mass., to Joseph and Appoline (Gelinas) Simard.
He was ordained into the priesthood on Feb. 25, 1956, by Most Rev. Francis Leipzig. He served as assistant pastor in Ontario, Burns, Klamath Falls and Pendleton, where he was also chaplain to St. Anthony’s Hospital. He became pastor of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish in Chiloquin in February of 1960. He then was pastor of St. Elizabeth’s Church in John Day. He served as pastor of St. Mary Parish in Elgin from 1968 to 1971.
The Rev. Simard was transferred to Nyssa until 1976, when he was named Rector of the Cathedral in Baker. He became the first pastor of the Holy Redeemer in La Pine in 1983. He was then appointed pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Prineville on July 1, 1989. He retired in 1999 because of health reasons. He came out of retirement in the fall of 2000 and was pastor of St. Augustine Parish in Merrill until August of 2001.
He served on various diocesan committees and boards including the Liturgical, Catholic Sentinel and Priestly Education committees, Senate of Priests, Board of Diocesan Consulters and as Dean of the Northern Deanery and Central Deanery.
The Rev. Simard enjoyed memorizing each Sunday’s gospel reading, spending time with his parish, religion and golfing.
Survivors include his four brothers, Charles of Vero Beach, Fla., John of Winthrop, Mass., William of Lexington, Mass., and James of Manchester, N.H.; and a sister, Sister Appoline Simard, O.P., of St. Catharine, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother and a brother.

Marion ‘Whitey’ Dean Kingham Sr.

Marion ”Whitey” Dean Kingham Sr. of Prineville died Thursday at Pioneer Memorial Hospital. He was 74.
A funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Prineville.
Mr. Kingham was born Feb. 27, 1927, in Smith Center, Kan., to Hubert and Emma (Rhoades) Kingham. He married Esther.
He served in the Navy in 1944. He attended diving school and did salvage work.
Mr. Kingham worked for Iron Fireman in Portland and Reynolds Aluminum. He then worked for Les Schwab. He retired in 1982.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, ranching, motorcycles, reading the Bible and spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his two sons, Marion ”Skip” Jr. and Mark; three daughters, Cheri Marino , Teresa Norris of Prineville and Karen; a brother, Herb of Portland; a sister, Opal Lewis of Johnson City; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
