The Phoenix Inn’s 32-suite addition is open for business.
After seven months of construction, the hotel suites were ready for customers on Christmas Day, said Phoenix Inn general manager Cash Smith.
The hotel, located in downtown Bend at 300 NW Franklin Ave., was issued its temporary occupancy permit Dec. 19.
The hotel’s three-story addition was designed to meet consumer demand for different kinds of suites, Smith said. The south side addition includes 11 large Deschutes suites, which feature a separate bedroom, a fireplace, jacuzzi and balcony porch.
”It’s our newest and nicest suite that we have on the property,” he said.
Several family suites were also built, each featuring two queen size beds and one king size bed in a separate room. The hotel added a large board room for meetings as well.
Portland-based general contractor Super One constructed the addition, bringing the total number of suites at the Phoenix Inn up to 117. One night in a suite ranges from $84 to $179, with the Deschutes suites costing the most, Smith said.
