Two Summit basketball players voted as Athletes of the Week

The votes are in for The Bulletin’s Athletes of the Week for Jan. 13-18. Nearly 400 votes were cast.
Jade Durfee, a sophomore on the Summit girls basketball team, and Rowan Blossey, a senior on the Summit boys basketball team, were voted by Bulletin readers as the boys and girls Athletes of the Week.

Durfee was nominated by Summit coach Austin Crook after the sophomore point guard (the team’s second-leading scorer) finished with 12 points in Summit’s 47-32 win over Lake Oswego on Jan. 17, to help the Storm win its 11th game of the season.
Rowan Blossey, Summit basketball
Blossey was nominated by Summit coach Joe Wells. The senior guard finished with a team-high 22 points while going 13 out of 15 at the free throw line in the Storm’s 66-57 win over Churchill on Jan. 17, to help Summit extend its winning streak to three games.
New nominations will be announced on Tuesday.
Local athletes are nominated for the honor by coaches and The Bulletin sports staff.
