Bend Endurance Academy (BEA) is set to host the 2025 USA Climbing Youth Bouldering Regional Championships on Jan. 11 at BEA’s youth bouldering facility in Bend.
The regional championships will bring together more than 300 of the region’s top young climbers from Alaska, Washington, and Oregon, according to a news release. These athletes will compete for a chance to advance in the qualification process for the 2025 Youth National Championships, scheduled for Portland in July.
“We’re honored to host the event and look forward to welcoming youth climbers, their families, and coaches to our facility,” said Mike Rougeux, executive director of BEA. “This championship highlights the strength of the climbing community here in the Pacific Northwest and gives young athletes the opportunity to perform on a larger stage.”
BEA’s youth bouldering facility, now entering its second year of operations, offers the latest in climbing hold selection and ample room for spectators. The event will feature climbs set by professional route setters to challenge competitors.
BEA is a nonprofit that offers programs in climbing, mountain biking, and Nordic skiing. BEA serves more than 1,000 youth annually, according to the release.
