Glitterfox, Shook Twins play twice at The Belfry

Glitterfox is a Portland-based band that plays catchy, rootsy rock 'n' roll.

Shook Twins are no strangers to Central Oregon. The sibling duo — identical twins Katelyn and Laurie Shook — have played in the area many times, and they have a sizable group of local fans who love their adventurous indie-folk-pop.

Want proof? Their show on Saturday at The Belfry in Sisters has sold out. But fear not! They added a matinee at 1 p.m. Sunday, and there are tickets still available at press time.

I’m here to tell you, however, about the other band on the bill: Glitterfox from Portland. Fronted by married couple Solange Igoa and Andrea Walker and signed to renowned indie label Kill Rock Stars, this crew makes a catchy and rootsy brand of rock ‘n’ roll that sounds like Fleetwood Mac if they were from the American South.

Glitterfox played last year’s Sisters Folk Festival, after which a trustworthy friend of mine (and big music fan) told me they were the highlight of the event. So if Shook Twins wasn’t enough to get you out to that Sunday matinee at The Belfry, maybe the chance to see Glitterfox, too, will do the trick.

Shook Twins and Glitterfox: 7 p.m. Saturday (SOLD OUT) and 1 p.m. Sunday ($25), The Belfry, 302 E. Main Ave., Sisters, belfryevents.com.
