January Green Drinks Film Screening
The Environmental Center is kicking off the 2025 Green Drinks series with the screening of “Footprints on Katmai.” The film focuses on ocean plastic and marine debris in Alaska. The screening will wrap up with a Q&A with current and former staff and high school students who will share their own experiences on their ocean plastic cleanup expeditions in Alaska.

Wolf Pub Talk
This is a presentation on “The Return of Canis lupus to the Oregon Landscape” that will focus on wolf biology, how wolf populations depleted in Oregon and how they have come back. It will also include updates on their current status, protections and more.

‘Space Hope and Charity’
An independent documentary film about Charity Woodrum, a young woman from rural Oregon whose dream of becoming an astrophysicist is nearly derailed when she suffers a devastating tragedy. Charity was raised in poverty and the first in her family to graduate from high school. In her mid-20s, she was married and nine months pregnant when she decided to return to school to study physics. But then, on what she calls “The Worst Day,” her world was destroyed.
There will be a Q&A with Woodrum, her teacher and director and producer Sandy Cummings following the screening.

Dr. Martin Luther King Commemoration — ‘On Being Black In Bend’
This documentary was filmed and edited in Central Oregon and asks 10 Black Central Oregonians about their experiences living here. Two short documentaries on the subjects of racial prejudice and faith, “A Conversation With My Black Son” and “How the Baha’i Faith Affirms and Empowers Black People” will also be shown. Refreshments available. Donations welcome.

Aluminum Show
Performers will manipulate aluminum tubes and foil to come to life on stage, transforming it into a futuristic playground. The show includes movement, dance, visual theater and humor. It’s the story of one man’s journey to a parallel universe of imagination made entirely of aluminum. Audience participation is woven into the fabric of the performance.
