- Being Dead
It’s a busy week for live music in Central Oregon, and you can find a lot more details in The Bulletin’s music calendar. Here are three highlights from this week’s schedule:
Three local bands will gather Friday night at the mighty M&J Tavern (102 NW Greenwood Ave., Bend) to rock the night away. In alphabetical order, they are party-friendly groovers Amargoso, thrashgrass band Jackrat and Zorb, makers of surf-flavored grunge. There’s no cover, so bring money for the tip jar or buy a T-shirt if they have one, OK? 8 p.m. Friday, free, 541-389-1410.
Albert Cummings
Mondays in February can be tough for touring artists, but blues-rock guitarist Albert Cummings will warm up Volcanic Theatre Pub (70 SW Century Drive, Bend) on that night next week, just days after releasing his new album “Strong.” This dude is a ripper with a raw and soulful style who puts the ROCK in blues-rock. 8 p.m. Monday, doors open 7 p.m., $30-$40, volcanictheatre.com.
Candy Cigarettes, Husbands
Have you noticed that the Domino Room (51 NW Greenwood Ave, Bend) has hosted a string of interesting pop-rock bands in recent months? It has! The latest example is Tuesday’s bill: Electro-shoegaze act Candy Cigarettes, twang-pop trio Being Dead and the headliner, Husbands, which “plays landlocked beach pop that sidequests Krautrock, garage rock, and tropicalia,” per the band’s Spotify bio. See? Interesting. 8 p.m. Tuesday, doors open 7 p.m., $17, midtownballroom.com.
