Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity has opened applications for 22 new homes in Bend and Redmond. The homes are a mix of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom options in southwest Redmond and southeast Bend. The homes will be designed with environmental sustainability in mind, and will include solar panels.

Families and individuals participate in volunteer hours, financial education and homeowner preparedness classes. Homeowners then purchase homes with a 30-year mortgage, which is set at 33% or less of monthly gross income.

Habitat for Humanity applies for grants and raises funds to cover the rest of the costs.

Applications can be found at Habitat for Humanity’s administration offices, 224 NE Thurston Ave. in Bend; Bend Restore, the Redmond Donation Center, the Latino Community Association and online at https://bendredmondhabitat.org/habitat-homeownership/

Applicants must earn under 80% of the area’s median income.
