Family friendly wildfire safety events planned for Central Oregon

Central Oregonians who want to learn more about fire prevention, air quality, and safe practices during wildfire season are invited to attend a Wildfire Preparedness Fair this spring.
The fair’s family friendly events allow the public to engage with local fire departments, county health agencies, emergency management officials and land managers. Information on wildfire safety, emergency kits, evacuations and community action plans will be available, as well as educational games and activities for children.
Scheduled events are:
• Sunday, 1-4 p.m., Bend Fire & Rescue Station 306, 425 NE 15th St., Bend
• April 13, 1:30-3:30 p.m., Crook County OSU Extension 4-H Clover Building, 502 SE Lynn Blvd., Prineville
• April 28, 1-4 p.m., Jefferson County Fire & EMS Fire Station, 765 S. Fifth St., Madras
• May 11, 1-4 p.m., La Pine Rural Fire Protection District Station 101, 51550 Huntington Road, La Pine
