Girls

Emma Miller, Caldera softball: With two outs and the score tied in the bottom of the seventh inning against Mountain View on April 26, Miller sent a fly ball to left field to drive home the winning run and give Caldera the 7-6 win, its sixth victory in a row. Miller finished with three RBIs in the series sweep of the Cougars.

Ashtyn Clark, Mountain View softball: In three games against Caldera, Clark struck out 16 batters — including an eight-strikeout performance on April 24 — and allowed just six earned runs. Clark has pitched in every game this season for the Cougars, and through nine Intermountain Conference contests she has struck out 50 batters.

Sage Cramp, Caldera track and field: At the Jesuit Twilight Invitational on April 26, Cramp set a Caldera record in the pole vault with a mark of 11 feet, 6 inches. That vault by the junior was good enough to finish fifth against competition across the Northwest and is the second-highest 5A mark this season.

Maddie Carney, Caldera track and field: With a time of 4 minutes, 53.45 seconds in the 1,500 meters at the Jesuit Twilight Relays, the freshman broke a school record. Carney is the only freshman to crack the top 10 in 5A in the 1,500.

Boys

Mason Morical, Caldera track and field: At the Jesuit Twilight Relays on April 26, Morical ran a personal best and set a school record in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:02.79. Morical was also the third leg of Caldera’s winning 4×800 relay team.

Ben Sorenson, Caldera track and field: At a dual meet at Bend High on April 24, Sorenson set a Caldera record in the pole vault with a mark of 14 feet, 6 inches. The mark is the second highest in all of 5A and tied for the fourth-highest vault across all state classifications.

Beau Parker, Crook County golf: At the La Pine Invite at Quail Run Golf Club on April 24, Parker finished first with a score of 79 (+7). The senior finished with 10 pars and one birdie during the 18-hole tournament.
