Central Oregon’s summer live music preview: Outdoor shows, concert series, festivals and more

Published 9:55 am Monday, May 20, 2024

They say you’ve got to make hay while the sun shines.

That’s especially true if you love live music, you love experiencing live music outside and you live in Central Oregon, where the window to comfortably enjoy a concert al fresco is frustratingly short. You can extend the summer concert season with appropriate layers, of course, but generally speaking, Central Oregon’s outdoor show calendar ramps up significantly between late May and September.

Below, we’ve rounded up summer’s live music offerings with a focus on events happening outside plus some of the region’s music festivals. Some things are missing — Munch & Music in Drake Park and Prineville’s Picnic in the Park series, for example, which haven’t yet announced their lineups, plus Hayden Homes Amphitheater, which we covered a couple of weeks ago. This listing, however, should provide a pretty good overview of your options over the next few months. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen!
