The pilot shut off fuel to the engine to prevent a potential leak or fire during the incident. There was one passenger and a dog on the jet, a 2007 Cessna Citation Mustang, and no one was injured.
A witness reported seeing flames and smoke following the jet’s arrival around 12:30 p.m. Authorities from the Sunriver police and fire departments did not find fire or smoke coming from the jet.
The runway was closed so the pilot and airport employees could remove the jet. The incident was reported to the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration and is under investigation.
