Brody Anderson listens as another man, who was a minor when he was allegedly sexually harassed by an employee of Black Butte Ranch, speaks during a press conference announcing a lawsuit against Black Butte Ranch and the employee on Thursday at The Haven in Bend. They are among nine employees or former employees of Black Butte Ranch filing a lawsuit alleging sexual abuse by another employee.

Four more people have joined a lawsuit against Black Butte Ranch and a long-time employee of a pub at the destination resort, Glenn Michael Woosley, who allegedly used his favored position with management to sexually harass at least 13 employees, some of whom were underage at the time.

The group of 13 plaintiffs, mostly young men, also accuse Black Butte Ranch management of dismissing allegations by employees of sexual abuse and encouraging employees not to talk to the police. However, one of the group’s lawyers, Jason Kafoury, said even more potential victims have come forward to the Black Butte Ranch Police Department and that victim interviews are ongoing.

The amended complaint filed with the Deschutes County Circuit Court on Tuesday is suing for $1.5 million in damages for each plaintiff, for a total of $19.5 million.

The substance of the complaint remains unchanged, alleging gender and sex discrimination, a hostile work environment, sexual assault/battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence. The complaint alleges instances of abuse that date back to 2021, although “Woosley had a reputation for sexual harassment and misconduct against staff” throughout his nearly 40-year tenure at Black Butte Ranch, according to the documents.

The plaintiffs are mostly young men ranging in age from 15 to 25, but several woman also say they were harassed and inappropriately touched by Woosley. According to the complaint, this sexual domination was “characteristic of Woosley’s method of supervising and controlling these employees in the workplace.” The complaint also alleges that management and human resources condoned Woosley’s actions.

Woosley has since been terminated from his employment with Black Butte Ranch.
