The votes are in for The Bulletin’s Athletes of the Week for Oct. 21-26. More than 700 votes were cast.

Kendall Martinez, a junior on the Crook County volleyball team, and Jaycob Miller, a senior on the Crook County boys soccer team, were voted by Bulletin readers as the boys and girls Athletes of the Week.

Kendall Martinez, Crook County volleyball

Martinez was nominated by Crook County coach Makayla Lindburg. The junior libero finished with six aces and was perfect on her serve-receive passing during a win in the final league match of the season against Gladstone on Oct. 22 to help the Cowgirls win the Tri-Valley Conference.

Jaycob Miller, Crook County soccer

Miller was nominated by The Bulletin sports staff after the senior finished with a hat trick in a 3-1 win over Madras on Oct. 21. Miller’s three goals helped Crook County clinch the program’s first-ever conference title and win 11 games on the season.

New nominations will be announced on Tuesday.

Local athletes are nominated for the honor by coaches and The Bulletin sports staff.
