Registration is now open for winter basketball programs with the Bend Park & Recreation District.

A middle school girls and a coeducational high school basketball league are now open for registration, at the park district’s website. The season will run from January though late February.

The middle school girls league is a partnership between Bend-La Pine Schools and the park district. Girls in grades six through eight are eligible to join as long as they live within the school district’s boundaries. Teams practice during the week, and games are played on weeknights.

The coed high school league is open to those who are not playing on a school team. This is a recreation league, though there will be playoffs at the end of the season.

A middle school boys league is already full, though those interested in youth basketball can join teams with space or join the waitlist.

Registration for other winter and some spring sports, including hockey and curling, will take place Dec. 9-11.
