Here are the candidates for The Bulletin’s Athletes of the Week for Jan. 22-27 as nominated by local coaches and The Bulletin sports staff.

Girls

Kasey Booster, Mountain View basketball: In Mountain View’s 79-52 win over Redmond on Jan. 23 to force a tie for first place in the Intermountain Conference standings, Booster scored 34 points to lead the Cougars. The senior guard committed to play college basketball at Saint Martin’s (Lacey, Washington) on Jan. 27 to boot.

Molly Konop, Redmond swimming: With a time of 5 minutes, 38.66 seconds, Konop won the 500-yard freestyle at the Madras Invitational on Jan. 27. Konop also helped the Panthers win the 200 medley relay, the 200 freestyle relay and the 400 freestyle relay.

Ashlyn Carnes, Redmond swimming: Carnes won the 100 freestyle at the Madras Invitational on Jan. 27 with a time of 1:00.33. Carnes also helped the Panthers win the 200 medley relay, the 200 freestyle relay and the 400 freestyle relay.

Maddie Thornton, Bend swimming: At the Bend City Meet Jan. 26, Thornton won the 100 butterfly (59.65) and the 100 freestyle (54.14), and helped the Lava Bears’ 200 medley relay take first place.

Boys

Seneca Ball, Madras basketball: In a 67-57 win over The Dalles Jan. 27, the Madras senior scored 40 points for the White Buffaloes to keep them unbeaten in Tri-Valley Conference play.

Scout Santos, Mountain View wrestling: Santos won the 132-pound weight class at the Reser’s Tournament of Champions on Jan. 26-27, avenging an earlier loss in the season against Newberg’s Gavin Rangel in the finals. Santos has won 33 of his 37 matches this year.

Andrew Imhoff, Trinity Lutheran basketball: The Saints junior averaged 25.8 points, seven rebounds, 3.5 assists and two steals over a three-game span with wins over Lost River (66-44 on Jan. 25), Chiloquin (85-46 on Jan. 26) and Crosspoint Christian (80-53 on Jan. 27). Imhoff scored 35 points in the win over Crosspoint Christian.

Stewart Bolic, Redmond swimming: Bolic won the 50-yard freestyle in 23.79 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 53.18 seconds at the Madras Invitational on Jan. 27. Bolic also helped the Panthers win the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay.

Dylan Hall, Redmond swimming: The senior won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:10.23 at the Madras Invitational on Jan. 27. Hall also helped the Panthers win the 200 medley relay, the 200 freestyle relay and the 400 freestyle relay.

Rylen Castino, Ridgeview wrestling: Castino won the 215-pound weight class at the Tod Surmon Memorial Tournament at South Albany High school on Jan. 27. Castino won all three of his matches by pins and eclipsed 100 career high school wins in the process.
